David Griggs

Painting bad-boy David Griggs examines the dark underbelly of human existence. Renewing the Spirit No 7 – included in the MCA’s 2006 annual survey Primavera – was developed after undertaking a residency in Manila. The resulting multi-layered paintings continue his ongoing mix of religious iconography, pop culture and undertones of violence
