Michael Johnson

Widely regarded as one of the most outstanding painters of his generation, Michael Johnson creates works described as ‘metaphysical orchestrations of colour’. Each element, be it colour, shape or angle, is carefully calculated for its impact, resulting in work at once subtle and beautiful.
This painting was one of the first purchases made by Artbank in 1980 and is today considered amongst the finest made by Johnson from his early period.
