Bidjara man Christian Bumbarra Thompson’s chillingly titled 'Hunting Grounds' suite shows him wearing eye ‘patches’ made of 1950s decorative plates that include kitsch images of Aboriginal people, as well as his trademark costuming: here a tulle neck frill that recalls a – in this case rather tragic – clown.
