Information for artists

Artbank acquires artworks from the primary market to provide artists with the most direct support. Purchases are made from commercial galleries, contemporary art spaces, artist-run organisations and artists’ studios throughout Australia. Artbank welcomes exhibition invitations and regular updates from galleries and artists, which should be sent to The Director at the Sydney office.

Artbank also considers submissions for acquisition directly from artists. Should you wish to email or post a proposal, please include:

• Images of a selection of recently produced artwork (photographs, slides, digital images);
• A price list for submitted artworks;
• A current artist résumé;
• Contact details including postal address for the return of support material;
• Other relevant supporting material.

New acquisitions are considered in accordance with Artbank’s Acquisition Policy and presented to Artbank’s Advisory Board on a quarterly basis for approval as required.

Artbank also accepts artwork donations through the Cultural Gifts Program.
