Information for artists

Artbank acquires artworks from commercial galleries, contemporary art spaces, artist-run organisations and artists’ studios throughout Australia. Artbank welcomes exhibition invitations and regular updates from galleries and artists, which should be emailed or sent to the Sydney office.

Artbank also considers submissions for acquisitions directly from artists. Should you wish to email or post a proposal, please include:

• Up to 10 digital images of a selection of recently produced artwork
• A price list for submitted artworks including titles, medium, date, sizes, framing (if applicable), provenance and prices (with the GST itemised)
• A single page current artist résumé;
• Contact details including email;
• Other relevant supporting material such as exhibition catalogues or reviews;
• If you would like any material returned, please include a stamped self-addressed envelope.

 
Submissions are considered in accordance with Artbank’s Acquisition Policy and are assessed by the Curatorial Department. Artists will receive a response in approximately 4 weeks. Due to the high number of submissions received individual feedback will not be provided.

Artbank also accepts artwork donations through the Cultural Gifts Program.
