Michael Brennan was born in 1976. He is concerned with the mechanisms that help us form ideas about truth and reality. He says, ‘My work has been concerned with structure, destabilizing and undermining it … to draw to the surface the instability of the systems and forms that underpin our culture. The shopping trolley – an urban icon – exemplifies this structure – purposeful and profitable, yet precarious and preventative.’ One Ring to Rule Them All has been described as being ‘like an ancient mandala’ only one dedicated to the worship of a very contemporary god
