Artbank will have a special viewing of Arrkutja Tharra, Kungka Kutjara, Two Girls, also now on show at ACMI in Melbourne. Please join us on Thursday July 6 to celebrate this wonderful animation joining the Artbank Collection. The evening will include light refreshments and a private viewing of Artbank’s Collection.

To celebrate NAIDOC Week 2023 Artbank invited two friends from Mparntwe (Alice Springs), Sally M Nangala Mulda and Marlene Rubuntja to curate the Artbank Window.
Arrernte and Western Arrarnta artist Marlene Rubuntja and Arrernte and Southern Luritja artist Sally M Nangala Mulda were the recipients of the third Artbank + ACMI video commission, creating a wonderful and unique animation Arrkutja Tharra, Kungka Kutjara, Two Girls. Combining animation, soft sculpture and painting the work is a beautiful story of friendship, resilience and laughter. Working from Tangentyere Artists and Yarrenyty Artltere Artists in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) these two artists have developed an important artistic voice representing stories from their life and home.
Artbank invited these Two Friends from Mparntwe to curate the Artbank Window, selecting artworks from the Artbank Collection that inspired them and celebrated NAIDOC Week 2023.
