From Where We Stand explores the subjective nature of perspective and its inseparable relationship to experience. As individuals, we are physically and emotionally shaped and reshaped over time which, in turn mediates our experience of the world, our place in it and an ever evolving sense of self.
A series of classical landscape paintings drawn from the Artbank collection form the foundation of the exhibition. Six artists practising with varied intent have been invited to respond to the core theme and explore how personal experience and a collective understanding of the world are at the same time both singular and pluralistic.
